Is the Broken Ski Grill open year-round?
No, we are a seasonal restaurant. We open the Saturday before mothers day close two weeks after Labor Day. Spring and Fall before Memorial Day and after Labor Day we are open only Saturdays and Sundays then Friday-Sunday Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Is the restaurant open to the public?
Yes! We are open to the pubic by car or boat during open business hours!
Does the Broken Ski Grill have boat parking for customers coming from water?
Yes, a large number of our customers come by boat. We have a courtesy dock located in front of the restaurant.
Can I make a reservation at the grill?
No, we are simply a first come, first serve restaurant. We have found this method allows for us to be more efficient in getting folks in for a wonderful dining experience.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, we are dog friendly if you have a friendly dog! All dogs are to be on non-retractable, 4ft leash at all times, as well as, remain on the ground while in the restaurant.
Do you offer to-go food orders?
We do offer to-go food orders during our slower times, but once we are on a wait for table we do stop to-go to keep the efficiency for our guests.
Does the restaurant have indoor air-conditioned seating?
Although we do not have indoor air-conditioned seating, we do have the advantage of being on the water which seems to bring better opportunities for a “beach breeze” to pass through our open-air dining room.
Do you have a Public boat ramp?
NO WE DO NOT HAVE A PUBLIC BOAT RAMP!
How old do I need to be to rent a boat from Sonny's Marina?
You must be at least 25 years old and have driver’s license.
Do I need a boating license to rent?
NO you can do a dockside safety check and obtain a day license from DGIF.
Can I pay cash for a rental?
No cash check or debit cards. Bring card & driver’s license the day of the rental. If you show up with a check or debit card we will NOT rent to you and the card number given will be charged a $50 fee.
Can I bring my dog?
No pets allowed on most of our boats, however we have a couple of pet friendly options for well behaved dogs under 40lbs a $25 pet fee will apply.
Can I pull my kid on a tube?
No pulling tubes or water skiing allowed.
I'm plaining on camping can i keep the boat for the night?
Boats cannot stay out over night; they must be before closing.
Boats must be in by 6 p.m. on weekdays and 7p.m. on Fri., Sat. & Sun. We charge a $100.00 late/cleaning fee plus $50.00 per hour for coming in late or excessively dirty.
How early can I pick up my rental?
Boat can be picked up as early as 10 a.m.
Can I beach or pull the rental to the shore?
NO. It is strictly prohibited to float or drive our rentals 100 feet or less to land or another boat.
What if I damage the boat or PWC?
Any damage to the boat is the sole responsibility of the person’s name on the contract. Damages must be paid the day of the rental with a valid credit card.
Can I cancel my rental and not pay a fee?
Cancellations on reservations can be made up till 10 a.m. 48 hours before the rental without charge with a phone call text message or email. We open Tuesday - Sunday at 10 a.m. If you make a reservation and do not cancel and do not show up you will be charged the full amount for the boat.
What if a storm comes just an hour into my rental?
NO REFUNDS ARE GIVEN DUE TO BAD WEATHER.
You must obey all rules & regulations of the lake while renting or dining at Sonny's Marina. Owner of credit card must be present at check-in and at check-out.
NO SMOKING, ALCOHOL OR GRILLS ALLOWED ON BOARD OUR BOATS DON'T ASK! Children under 12 are required to wear life jackets at all times. Please no grills. Prices can change without warning. Please see written agreement for all details. The renter is responsible for fueling boat or jet ski with appropriate Gas and or Oil at Sportsmans Marina after rental period.
